Thank you to a Good Samaritan 8/31/15…

flag picSome of you might have read the post from last week about a firearm being sold at cost, so that the proceeds could be donated to someone in need.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Carlton “Russ” Bakley is an Officer in need of assistance. Along with being a CBPO (K9) and a Florida state trooper, Russ is also a single dad with a 14 year old daughter. He has been battling bone cancer since 2011 and now Lymphoma.  A fellow officer, Dan Chavez, and a large community on Facebook (South Florida Unique Gun Traders) have been trying to raise money to offset some of the crippling medical bills that come along with the fight that Russ is going through.  I would like to say thank you to the Good Samaritan that came in and met me at the shop today in order to purchase the weapon that was up for donation.  The proceeds have been donated to the GOFUNDME Page http://www.gofundme.com/LawEnforcernentOfc and the tax and background fees will be sent to the appropriate state agencies.  If you have a couple of extra bucks, please make a donation.  No amount is too small.  As many of you know, this shop supports the men and women who serve all of us for a living.  This is a cause that hits close to home for me as my family has lost its share of battles with cancer and is still fighting some.  I know the level of support that people need when they go through this.  Any respite from the economic pressures that come along with this fight, help people to focus on what really matters…the family that is going through all of this.

As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
