New Smith & Wesson 686 & 442 on 8/29/15…

SMITH & WESSON 686Good afternoon all and Happy Saturday!  Now that the Tropical Storm Erika has dissipated and we can all breathe a sigh of relief and figure out how to consume all the beer we bought in preparation for the hurricane, the shop has some nice new wheel guns to talk about.  Let’s get started with one of my favorites in the Smith & Wesson Model 686 Distinguished Combat Magnum.  This is a Double Action/Single Action 4″ barreled, six shot .357magnum/.38spl stainless steel L-Frame Revolver.  The finish is Satin Stainless and she comes from the factory with a big comfy set of rubber grips on her.  The rear sights are adjustable white outline and the front sight is red ramp.  These are the kind of simple, quality revolvers that get passed down to future generations by the people that own them and they are reasonably priced.

SMITH & WESSON 442Next up is the Smith & Wesson Model 442.  She’s a 5 shot Airweight .38spl J-Frame revolver that is ideal for pocket carry or as a backup weapon inside a vest or on an ankle.  She’s hammerless making her snag free for drawing from anywhere you want to stash her.  The J-Frame design has been around for a long time with good reason.  Compact and lightweight, with real stopping power is always a nice combination.  She does have some kick but these sidearms are meant as close quarters defensive weapons so if you need to use it, you can worry about your hand stinging a little later.

As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
