New Ruger Gunsite Scout .308 and Ruger 10/22 Takedown on 3/25/14…

Good evening all.  We received a couple of really nice Ruger long guns in today.  There will be some more interesting inventory coming in this week so stay tuned if you can.  Let’s start with another new Ruger long gun that has never been in the shop before.  The Ruger Gunsite Scout .308 arrived today and she is a beauty.  Ruger states that this is the “one rifle to have if you could only have one”.  The details on this rifle that hails from the 77 Series family are impressive so let’s dig in.  She has a 16.5″ threaded barrel with flash suppressor that sits on a black (grayish) laminate frame.  The action is bolt but she is magazine fed and comes standard with a 10 round magazine.  The overall length with the flash suppressor and normal recoil pad is 38″ giving her a compact personality with a big bore reach.  The rate of twist is 1 in 10.  She comes with scope rings if you don’t like the adjustable rear and fixed front sights.  The trigger is crisp and clean and she is light for a .308 but boasts a pretty substantial recoil pad to cut down on the hammering on your shoulder.  It’s hard to make the claim that Ruger makes which is “the one rifle to have if you could only have one”, but they put out a very nice weapon here at a great price point.  Whether you agree with their claim or not, this is a weapon that is certainly worth owning.

Lastly, we received another Ruger 10/22 Takedown in today.  These are a favorite of the shops clientele so not much description is necessary other than this is a .22lr rifle that neatly disassembles into two parts and stows in a sharp little soft backpack that Ruger provides for carrying.  This is a great campsite or prepper solution as this weapon and 1000rds goes into this bag at a minimal weight and this little rifle is a tack driver.  All around great little weapon.
