Memorial Day…
I always write a little piece every year as Memorial Day approaches. I’m going to keep it short today. Most people my age have gone through the loss of someone important to them as a result of those people having served in the United States Armed Forces. Monday is about reflection on the people that sacrificed their lives so that we may continue to enjoy our way of life. I have always had family and friends that are in the service or are veterans. Over the past year I have come into contact with an entirely new circle of people that are all in the mix in one way or another and I’m thankful for having them in my life. The recounting of their experiences and the unavoidable losses that they suffer serving our country helps keep everything in perspective. Monday is a day of reflection for those that we have lost but it’s also about being aware of the family that those people have left behind. Everyone pays tribute or expresses their remembrance in their own way. Remember the significance that Monday has for a big chunk of our society even if it doesn’t have any personal significance for you. Please be both mindful and respectful of the day and it’s meaning. As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
