LOTS of New Weapons today including Ruger Mini 30 Ranch rifle – 12/9/13…

We received lots of new weapons today.  We will start with long guns.  A long sought after first for the shop is the Ruger Mini 30 Ranch rifle chambered in 7.62×39.  She has a Stainless Steel barrel and receiver and Black Synthetic stock.  She comes with rails and scope rings and two 5 round magazines and she has sling mounts already installed.  These are beautiful and tough rifles that have had a loyal following for decades.

 

Next, we have another first for the shop.  This is weapon I barely new existed until a couple of weeks ago.  This rifle is a knockout.  Magnum Research produces a limited run of these Magnum Lite Rifles which are semi-auto chambered in .22WMR.  This rifle is unbelievably light as she comes with a graphite barrel.  The patented graphite barrel is unique to MRI. It provides lighter weight, better heat dissipation than steel and is extremely stiff. MAGNUM LITE receivers are CNC machined from a 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum forging and include an integral Weaver type rail for optics. The bolts are manufactured and machined from heat treated 4140 steel with tight bolt face depth tolerances for better accuracy.  She has a 10+1 capacity and weighs least than 5 lbs.  Upon finding the center point on this rifle for balance, you can hold it up on two fingers comfortably.  That’s how light it is.

 

The final long gun for today is the CZ 712 Shotgun chambered in 12 gauge.  These semi-auto shotguns are high quality weapons manufactured at a low price point.  The CZ 712 is a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun built on a lightweight alloy receiver. Chambered to accept both 2 3/4″ and 3″ shells, the 712 can be had with 26″ or 28″ barrels, making it a great choice for both upland game and waterfowl. This one is a 26″ barrel. With a chrome-lined bore and moly black hard chrome exterior finish, the 712 will resist corrosion after many seasons in the field. The Turkish walnut furniture is built with a 14 1/2″ length of pull and right-hand cast off.  The 712 comes with a magazine tube plug installed for waterfowl. If the plug is removed, it gives the upland hunter a 4+1 capacity.

 

Now, onto sidearms.  We received a nice group of sidearms today too.  As the Walther PPK/S that we received last week sold very quickly, we were lucky enough to land another one.  The description from last week moved the weapon in a hurry so I’m going to go right back to it.  Walther PPKS chambered in .380acp and finished in Stainless Steel.  Once in a great while, a firearm becomes so popular that it becomes a cultural icon. Like a great car or movie, a great firearm can become a true classic. The PPK established a defining influence on the design of concealed carry firearms. Its elegant lines and precision engineering have a timeless appeal. And a PPK has the solid feel of pure quality. More than ever, the PPK is a statement of sophistication.  I can still see M asking 007 for his Beretta and replacing it with the Walther PPK in the beginning of From Russia With Love.  Does anything more really need to be said?

 

Next, we have the Colt 1911 Government Model (.45acp) in a Blued finish with Rosewood grips.  This is the classic Colt sidearm.  A long trigger, flat mainspring housing and original style recoil spring system remain from the original M1911 design. Upgrades from the original include white dot sights and a lowered ejection port for extra reliability. It still remains “the standard” that everyone tries to imitate, but no one duplicates.

 

Lastly, we have a nice .22lr plinking sidearm.  If you are used to carrying a full size Smith & Wesson M&P Handgun, then the Smith & Wesson M&P22 is a great addition to your collection.  Designed as a dedicated .22LR, the M&P22 pistol combines the look, feel and familiar operating features of the trusted M&P series of centerfire pistols.  The M&P22 is ideally suited for training or simple shooting enjoyment with the popular .22LR cartridge.
