KEL-TEC RFB on Consignment at Gunshine Arms on 01/14/14…

Yup, you read that right.  It’s like a unicorn just walked through my door and decided to settle down for 15 days (that’s the duration of the PBSO hold on consigned weapons…I don’t expect she’ll be here longer than that).  Never seen one of these rifles before and I’ve been looking for one for as long as the shop has been open.  The owner’s log book stated she has just over 300 rounds through her.  These rifles are chambered in 7.62 Nato/.308win and this one comes with an 18″ barrel.  The KEL-TEC RFB is a short-stroke gas piston operated semi-automatic rifle. It accepts standard metric FAL type magazines which work “drop free” and do not need to be tilted in. This one comes with six 20 round magazines. Barrel has a chrome lined bore and chamber. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 TPI and comes equipped with a A2-style Flash Hider.  All controls are fully ambidextrous; the reciprocating operating handle can be switched to either side. The trigger mechanism is second to no other Bullpup ever built and better than nearly all commercial semi-auto rifles. The safety disconnects the trigger and blocks the hammer action. A Mil-Spec Picatinny rail is attached rigidly to the barrel. No open sights are provided, allowing the user to select from the very best new optics and sight systems available.  In the photo below, she is resting between a LWRC REPR (7.62Nato) with a  16″ barrel and the Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM-16 (7.62Nato) with a 16″ barrel.  Keeping in mind that the RFB has an 18″ barrel, take a good look at the difference in overall length.  This weapon puts a smile on my face.
