HK VP9LE and Smith & Wesson Model 638 CT on 12/30/14…
Good morning all. We have a couple of very nice new sidearms that are in the inventory this morning. These will be the last entries into the shop for 2014. Funny to write that and weird to read it, but there it is. On that same line of thought, the shop will be closing on New Years Eve at 2pm, will be closed on New Years Day and also closed on Friday January 2nd, reopening on Saturday January 3rd of next year. I’ll put out a dedicated post for the schedule in a bit. Back to weapons!
New for this morning, we have the Heckler & Koch VP9LE model. This is H&K’s newest striker fired 9mm weapon and she has a lot of bang for the buck, especially with this LE model. She has a 4.1″ barrel with an overall length of 7.34″. The grip will get your attention as the weapon seems to be designed for everyones hand no matter how different they are. The grip is also customizable with different sized backstraps and side plates that come in the box from H&K. The LE model comes from the factory with a nice set of Tritium Night Sites on her and three 15 round magazines. H&K designed in front and rear slide serrations as well as a set of “wings” at the rear of the slide that enhance your ability to rack the slide without getting in the way. Trigger pull is short and crisp, with a nice short reset. All in all, this weapon is a home run from Heckler & Koch.
Next up, we have a heck of a concealed carry revolver from Smith & Wesson assisted by the folks at Crimson Trace. The Smith & Wesson Model 638 CT is an Airweight Revolver chambered in .38spl on the Small Bodyguard Frame. She has a shrouded hammer so the weapon won’t get caught up on anything if you are carrying her in a front pocket, and a 5 shot cylinder. The Crimson Trace Laser Grip activates when you grip the weapon (there is a kill switch on the bottom of the grip) so the laser works when you need and only when you need it. This is a phenomenal concealed carry or backup weapon at a very nice price from Smith & Wesson.
