Browning Auto 5 Sweet 16 manufactured in 1957…
Good evening all. This is a nice one. We took in a Belgium made Browning Auto 5 Sweet 16 shotgun today on consignment. She’s obviously a 16 gauge semi-auto and she was made in 1957. She isn’t in pristine shape, but she doesn’t have a pristine price tag either. Commonly referred to as John Browning’s Old Humpback, these are timeless classics. She has the magazine tube stop lever so you can clear the chamber with out chambering another shell in the process, which is a nice feature that you don’t see on modern day field guns. Some simple engraving and the gold trigger accent the beautiful old wood stock that was the standard on these shotguns. Nice find at a nice price. She’s the one in the middle of the photo below.
