A little holiday season advice…
Good afternoon all and Happy Hump Day! We are all getting geared up for a nice weekend of family, fun, football, and shopping. Nobody knows how to enjoy some downtime more than me, but I would like to take a pause for the cause so to speak. The holiday season, and the shopping that goes along with it, tend to bring some of the more predatory elements into our city. Yesterday, I witnessed a pretty coordinated smash-n-grab on a car that was parked in a public lot where the person that was driving had just gone into a business. This was during broad daylight and the act was committed by people wearing masks, sunglasses and hoods. This level of preparation/coordination tells us that they had followed the person out of another business where they witnessed him with a fair amount of money, or with valuables that he purchased that were worth this kind of effort. Just a friendly reminder to always be aware of your surroundings, even more so during the holiday season. The type of commerce that takes place during the next month draws the opportunists (that’s a nice word for shitbags). As most of you that are reading my Blog are probably concealed weapon license holders, please remember that YOU CAN NOT USE DEADLY FORCE TO DEFEND PROPERTY. If you witness someone breaking into your car, you can not shoot them unless they turn on you and you feel as though your life or the lives of your people are in peril. Most criminals are out for profit, not blood and don’t want any part of a confrontation. Most will run when they see people coming. Those that do not run and choose to take a closer look at YOU as opposed to your property…well…you do what you have to and make the world a better place. Please be safe out there and as always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
