A day of remembrance and all of the emotions that go along with it…

Good morning all.  Hard to believe it’s been 13 years.  I will try not to get long winded this morning.  Today, everyone remembers where they were at almost exactly this moment 13 years ago.  It is a day of sad memories to be sure, but it is also a day that brings back memories of pride in the city that I grew up in the shadow of.  Pride in its people and the way that they came together in the aftermath of that day.  Pride in the people of the United States for the way that we banded together in the aftermath of that day.  Pride in, and gratitude for, all of the first responders and volunteers that helped dig my city out of rubble without concern for their own well being on that day and for the very difficult stretch of many months that followed.  Finally, there is still a great deal of anger and with that emotion, a hope.  Hope that those who have done the people of this great nation harm, or are trying to do us harm, will find short lives filled with paralyzing fear and an extremely unpleasant and unbelievably painful end.
