Pristine 1969 Browning Hi-Power 9mm…

browning hi-powerA beautiful Browning Hi-Power 9mm manufactured in Belgium in 1969 landed in the shop.  They just don’t make them like this anymore.  This one is in absolutely pristine shape.  The magazine safety is still in it which will tell you that no one ever shot it much but the condition of the weapon in general makes me question whether it was ever shot at all.  If you like Hi-Power pistols, you will want to come down and take a look at this one.  The Hi-Power is one of John Moses Browning’s finest designs.   Although it is possible to still find Hi-Power pistols at dealers across the U.S. (like the one pictured above), the Hi-Power is technically out of production. Current dealer inventories will be the last available from Browning for the foreseable future.

When it was introduced early in the 20th century, the Browning Hi-Power 9mm pistol was a revelation. It offered the perfect balance of handling, size and firepower, with an impressive 13-round magazine capacity. Over the years, the Hi Power has aged gracefully and continues to have a loyal following among those “in the know.” Whether you are a novice or a seasoned shooter, you will appreciate the fine craftsmanship and function of these classic pistols, the sure heft of the machined steel frame and slide, and their natural pointability.

To this day, the most natural point of any firearm in production is still a 1911.  The grip angle and feel that John Moses Browning incorporated into the Browning Hi-Power has its soul and roots from the 1911 which was one of Browning’s (and history’s) most prolific handgun designs.  Components of the Hi-Power design can be found in weapons from Sig Sauer and CZ to this day and there is a reason for it.  This design makes for some of the most comfortably accurate performance ever to have a 9mm round chambered in it.
