Ruger M77/357 Bolt Action Rifle…

 

Good morning all and Happy Saturday!  The folks in product development at Ruger definitely keep the industry hopping. Their new weapon that landed here yesterday is the Ruger M77/357 Bolt-Action Rifle.  This is a weapon that is ideally suited to hunting here in Florida where there aren’t really long sight lines or really large animals.  Chambered in .357magnum (with the ability to shoot .38spl as well), this rifle comes with a 5 round detachable box mag.  Out of the box, the trigger is a nice crisp clean break.  Ruger wired in some nice features with this rifle including patented integral scope mounts, machined directly on the solid-steel receiver, provide a stable mounting surface for scope rings, eliminating a potential source of looseness and inaccuracy in the field (scope rings included).  The three-position safety is easily accessible and allows the shooter to lock the bolt to load and unload the rifle with the safety engaged.

She has a solid, heat-treated alloy and stainless steel actions feature a rugged, stainless steel bolt with 90° bolt lift and ultra-fast lock time for added accuracy.  There are little features that are nice for the hunters like the detachable rotary magazine which features a unique rotor to separate cartridges and provide reliable feeding and mounts flush with the stock to eliminate protrusions at the rifle’s balance point.  This is all topped off with a cold hammer-forged barrel that results in ultra-precise rifling and provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning.

The Ruger M77/357 Bolt-Action Rifle mag will certainly get the job done here in Florida, and not dent the wallet as much as traditional hunting rounds.  This rifle is an all around win if like spending time in the field here…not to mention having a hunting rifle and hunting sidearm that can take the same rounds!
