Sig Sauer P320 Carry 9mm vs. Springfield XD Mod2 9mm 4″
Good morning all. Today brings the first SIG SAUER P320 Carry 9mm into the shop. I’ve brought in a boat load of the Compact size frames before but this is our first Carry. The P320 Carry has the same barrel length (3.9″) as the Compact but the magazine size, and grip, are larger due to having a 17+1 capacity vs. the standard 15+1 of the Compact size frame. The fun part is the trigger which is one of the shortest, crispest DAO pulls you will find on the market. I actually warn people that come into the shop who ask to see the weapon, if I see they have poor trigger discipline, that this might not be the weapon for them. She feels nice in the hand and shoots like a dream.
Our next weapon to look at this morning is the Springfield Armory XD Mod.2 9mm 4″. This weapon is roughly the same size as the P320 Carry but Springfield squeezed in an extra round of capacity (16+1) with a more ergonomic and textured grip. The P320 has SigLight Night Sights and the XD Mod.2 has rear white dot and front Red Fiber Optic sights. The Mod.2 feels heavier in the hand empty and will be just slightly heavier again when she’s fully loaded. The Mod.2 comes in about $100 cheaper than the P320 but you would have to decide if the Tritium Sights and that Trigger on the Sig makes up the difference. As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
