New FNX-45 Tactical on 5/8/15…

Good morning all and Happy Friday!  This has been a week for large sidearms and today will be no exception.  FNH USA makes some great weapons, but as someone who holds the .45acp caliber near and dear to my heart (and person), the FNX-45 Tactical has a special place for me out of all of the weapons made by FN.  This weapon is a beast in size so it’s not for people with smaller hands, but it’s about as easy to shoot as any .45acp sidearm I’ve ever seen.  Fully loaded she is both larger and lighter than my G21 SF (with extended mag to match the FN’s 15 round mag) and has considerably less recoil.  Obviously, the price points are different but…lighter and less recoil are not usually words that go together in the world of firearms.  The FNX-45 Tactical comes with three 15 round magazines which is not matched by anyone with regard to capacity without some aftermarket help when it comes to factory weapons chambered in .45acp.  She is hammer fired, DA/SA with a safety that doubles as a de-cocker and yes…she can be carried cocked and locked if you like.  Now for the fun parts.  All operating controls are fully ambidextrous for ease of use. The 5.3″ cold hammer-forged, stainless steel barrel has a threaded muzzle to accept sound suppressors, compensators and other accessories. The stainless steel slide has high-profile combat night sights and includes two mounting bases to accept multiple styles of optional red-dot electronic sights.  Due to it’s size, this weapon will have more of a home defense application than anything else but you will not find a more complete or customizable package out there if you want to get into a tactical .45acp weapon.
