Smith & Wesson Model 60 .357mag and Model 642 .38spl 4/15/15…
Good afternoon all. We have two nice little revolvers from Smith & Wesson to talk about today. Starting with the Model 60 (aka Chiefs Special) which is a J-Frame revolver with a 3″ barrel chambered in .357Mag. Like all J-Frames, she is a 5 shot revolver, but unlike most of them she has a stainless steel frame and stainless steel cylinder which gives her the right amount of weight to withstand shooting a .357mag round comfortably. This Smith & Wesson Model 60 is finished in satin stainless.
Next up we have another J-Frame revolver from Smith & Wesson in the Model 642. This is a 5 shot hammerless .38spl with an aluminum alloy frame and a stainless steel cylinder. The lightweight frame is what gives her the name Airweight from Smith. These are ideal pocket revolvers as there is nothing to snag when drawing out of a pocket and .38spl packs a great punch for a weapon that conceals as easily as this one does.
As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
