New SIG SAUER P320 Carry and GLOCK 42 on 7/10/14…

Good afternoon all.  We received some very nice sidearms today.  We have one that is new to the shop so we are going to start with the SIG SAUER P320 Carry.  She is a striker fired, double action only 9mm pistol in a carry size.  The trigger on this weapon is fantastic for a DAO.  The unique modular design of the P320 offers the user the ultimate in flexibility to change calibers, sizes, and fit. Small, medium, and large complete polymer grip modules ensure comfortable and optimal fit for the widest range of hand sizes.  She has front and rear slide serrations, SigLite Night Sites and two 15rd magazines.  The P320 features a unique 5-point safety system, standard on all models:
– Striker Safety
– Disconnect Safety
– 3-point Take Down Safety System
– Takedown is prohibited without removal of magazine
– System prohibits takedown without slide locked to the rear
– Rotation of takedown lever allows disassembly without tools or trigger manipulation.

I like the direction SIG SAUER is taking with this weapon.  She’s only slightly more expensive than a GLOCK 19 and comes packed with some pretty nice features.

 

Next, we received another new GLOCK 42 this afternoon.  These weapons have been hard to keep in the shop.  You get personal testimony out of me on this one.  I can’t say enough good things about this weapon.  Mine has 1000 rounds through it now and she hums along just like any other GLOCK in the collection.  She’s just small enough to fit in a pocket and truly disappears  if you carry her inside a waistband (it looks like you might have a cell phone on your belt).  The heavy recoil spring and small frame mean that you have to run ammunition that is 95 grain or higher for it to cycle properly, but it also means that this weapon does not kick at all for a small .380acp.  I’ve run 300 rounds through it comfortably in an afternoon at the range.   These weapons are awesome for the purpose they were designed.  Small, slim, and easy to handle.
