New Sidearms including GLOCK 42 and CZ 97 BD on 6/3/14…

Good evening all.  We got four new sidearms in today and some of them are definitely on peoples watch list.  Let’s get started with the GLOCK 42 as she seems to be the hot little number everyone is trying to find these days.  The new GLOCK 42, in .380 AUTO, is a slimline subcompact pistol engineered to be able to withstand the rigors of routine training. Made in the USA, the G42 is the smallest pistol GLOCK has ever introduced, making it ideal for pocket carry and shooters with smaller hands. Years of requests across market groups for a super-concealable, reliable single-stack .380 GLOCK pistol prompted extensive research and development to bring the GLOCK customer the G42.  Now that the GLOCK company line has been towed, I can speak for this weapon personally as I own one.  As long as you run .380 ammunition that is 95 grain or higher, these weapons run like a swiss watch.  It employs the double recoil spring from the Gen4 GLOCK pistols and the spring tension is too high for anything below 95 grain.  Recoil is negligible, and you can put 300 rounds down range in an afternoon without a hiccup which is unheard of for a small frame .380acp weapon.  It’s a phenomenal little sidearm.

Next, we have a first time entry into the shop that has already got my head spinning.  This weapon is so right up my alley.  I’ve never actually held one of these before this one showed up today.  The CZ 97 BD is a full size .45acp with a steel frame and a 4.8″ cold hammer forged barrel.  Overall length is 8.3″.  The double stack magazine holds 10 rounds.  The CZ 75 BD comes with slim black aluminum grips making it the slimmest double stack 10+1 .45acp that I’ve ever held.  She comes with 3 Dot Tritium Night Sites and two 10 round magazines.  On the left side of the slide there is a decocking lever making it possible to carry this weapon hammer down with one in the chamber.  Speaking of which, there is a loaded chamber indicator.  This is just one of those weapons that once you pick it up, you don’t want to put it down.

Next, we have a Smith & Wesson Model 60 Chiefs Special chambered in .357Mag/.38Spl.  This weapon sports the Small Chiefs Special frame which is an all steel frame with a Satin Stainless finish and comfortable black synthetic grips.  With a 5 round capacity and barrel length of 2 1/8 inches, she is all about concealment/backup weapon.  These are old school Smith & Wesson wheel guns and for those of you that appreciate this kind of weapon, it will put a smile on your face.

Lastly, we have the SCCY CPX2 TT 9mm pistol.  This is a concealed carry pistol on a budget.  She comes with two 10 round magazines and has no manual safety.  My understanding is that the folks who opened up SCCY had something to do with the folks at Kel-Tec in the past.  The price point and product seem like a direct competitor for the Kel-Tec P11.  I’ve had some good reports regarding these weapons from the clients that have purchased them from the shop in the past.
