M&P15 Optics Ready, M&P15-22, and Thompson Center Venture 270 at the shop today…

Some new long gun additions to round out this Tuesday nicely!  We have a couple of shop favorites back in from Smith & Wesson, and a new entry from Thompson Center Rifles.  Let’s get started.

The Smith & Wesson M&P15 Optics Ready rifle is a fantastic mid-range direct impingement AR platform rifle.  Chambered in 5.56mm, she has a 16″ barrel, and weighs 6.5 pounds.  Overall length is 35″ and 32″ with the 6-position stock fully collapsed.  Chromed components include barrel bore, gas key, bolt carrier and chamber.  The gas block has an integral picatinny rail for sight mounting.  This is Smith’s straight up work horse of a rifle and she’s worth every penny because she’s sold at a great price.

 

Next, we have another shop crowd favorite from Smith & Wesson.  The M&P15 rifle line has expanded to now include the new M&P15-22. Chambered in .22LR, the M&P15-22 rifle is built with high strength polymer upper and lower receivers. This creates a reduced weight rifle that retains the looks and operating features of the standard M&P rifle.  She comes with a 6-position collapsable stock, functioning charging handle, adjustable rear and front sights, two-position receiver mounted safety selector, cartridge case deflector, bolt catch, recessed magazine release button and light weight but high strength polymer quad rail hand guard.  This rifle has a threaded barrel with a flash suppressor and comes standard with a 25 round magazine.  This rifle is easy to use, fun at the range, and easy on the wallet.

 

Finally, we have the new entry into the shop.  This is our first bolt action rifle chambered in 270wsm and it comes to us from Thompson Center Rifles.  This rifle is close to invincible against mother nature with the Weather Shield that the folks at Thompson came up with.  Fifty-times more corrosion-resistant than traditional stainless steel, the innovative Weather Shield coating protects your bolt-action rifle from the elements in any climate.  Stay in control of your shot with Hogue Overmolded traction panels, designed to give shooters a secure grip in any condition.  An accurate shot starts with a crisp trigger. The trigger on the T/C Venture can be adjusted from 3.5-5 lbs of trigger pull, depending on shooter preference.  This is an all around well put together bolt action rifle and it’s .270 chamber will allow you to hunt anything that Florida can throw at you in the field.
