New weapons at Gunshine Arms including Dan Wesson ECO 1911 on 10/22/13…
We received some great new inventory today. One of the weapons is a first for the shop and many are favorites of the shop and it’s clients. Lets get started with the new face in the window. We received a Dan Wesson ECO 1911 today. The ECO wears tritium night sights with a tactical ledge sight on the rear of a lightweight 3.5” slide. The barrel is a flush-cut ramped bull barrel with target crown rather than the traditional barrel and barrel bushing. This makes the gun slightly more compact and easier to disassemble. The recoil system is quite unique for this style of 1911. A solid, one piece guide rod and a flat recoil spring are used that is rated for 15,000 rounds in .45 ACP. That is 15,000 rounds! Not 500 rounds like most 1911 dual recoil systems are rated for. This is unheard of in a production 1911! This recoil system also gives the benefit of a smooth slide for easier operation and less felt recoil.
Trigger pull, like all of the Dan Wesson 1911s, is short and crisp at around 4 lbs. This helps achieve the accuracy you’ve come to expect from a Dan Wesson. The frame is anodized aluminum and features an undercut trigger guard and 25 LPI checkering. The mainspring housing is also aluminum with 25 LPI checkering and a rounded bottom corner for concealability and shooting comfort. These features coupled with the Ed Brown high ride grip safety and the new slim line DW carry G10 grips really help you hold onto the gun for faster follow-up shots and recoil control. Just like the Guardian, the ECO slide and small parts are treated with a Duty finish. Stopping power is not a concern.
No matter how many times I took this photo, the front of the slide would just not show up. It is blacker than night. You can see the front sight but it looks like it’s just floating there. This is the finest 1911 we have had in the shop to date.
Next, we have another carry sized 1911 by Sig Sauer. The Sig 1911 Ultra Nitron is chambered in .45ACP, has a 7 round capacity, comes standard with Low Profile SIGLITE Night Sites and Custom Blackwood Grips. The barrel length is 3.3″ and overall length is 6.8″. The legendary 1911 design has been brought into the 21st century with the refinement today’s shooters demand. The SIG SAUER 1911 proves that close tolerances equal complete reliability and need not be incompatible in an off-the-shelf pistol. SIG SAUER has introduced clean, distinct lines that American shooters have embraced, while retaining the crisp trigger pull, classic ergonomics, and exceptional accuracy they expect.
Next, we have another entry from Sig Sauer. The Sig Sauer P238 Extreme came in today. The P238 EXTREME is just a fraction of the size of Sig’s full-size pistols. A smart looking, small handgun built with the same accuracy and reliability as large frame SIG SAUER pistols. With an overall length of just 5.5 inches a height of 4.46 inches, and weighing just 15.2 ounces, the SIG SAUER P238 is the ultimate firepower in an all metal frame concealed pistol. The P238 is built on an alloy beavertail style frame, Nitron finished slide and Hogue Extreme Series G-10 grips for comfort and a secure hold during rapid-fire usage. The magazine combines a 7 round magazine tube with the ergonomically designed X-Grip® magazine adapter, providing additional control and increased capacity.
Next, we have the Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sporter rifle chambered in 5.56. This is the second one in the last couple of weeks and this rifle is a crowd favorite for a number of reason. She features a 16″ barrel, 30 round PMAG, adjustable front and rear sights, 6-Position Telescopic Butt Stock, and chrome lined gas-key and bolt carrier. This is one of the best entry level AR’s on the market and it’s hard to argue with the price.
Finally, we received a Mossberg 500 JIC 12 gauge shotgun today. For all of the preppers out there that come through the shop, you’ll like this one. She is a 12 Gauge with an 18.5″ Barrel and a Matte Blue Finish,Pistol Grip, Bead Sight, OD Green Water-Resistant Tube with Carrying Strap, Survival Kit-In-A-Can, Resealable Plastic Storage Pouch. This is a great kit to have in a strategic location. The JIC in the name stands for Just In Case.
As always, thank you for reading the Blog at https://gunshinearms.com There will be more entries this week.
