HAPPY FRIDAY ALL! This is another one of those occasions where sometimes I’m amazed at what walks through my door. This H&R Reising Model 60 was only made between 1944 and 1946 and it was developed as a police weapon. This one has a serial number of 170 so it’s a safe bet that it was made in 1944. This is a .45 caliber semi-automatic (they were originally full automatic for the military but they were modified for civilian sale) with an 18.25″ barrel. She comes with three original 20 round magazines. The Harrington & Richardson Reising Model 60 is blued with a walnut stock. She operates on a retarded blowback system. The charging handle is on the underside of the hand guard area of the stock. She’s never been refinished and is unbelievably beautiful shape (blue book excellent condition).
It makes me smile that over the years, this shop has become known as a place to bring beautiful old weapons like this. It’s nice to handle such pristine pieces of history as a part of my every day work here at the shop. One of the many reasons that I love what I do here.
As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
