New Wilson Combat Classic 5″ .45acp 7/31/15…

 

 

Good morning all.  The shop has been on a nice inventory roll lately and today follows suit.  A new Wilson Combat Classic 5″ chambered in .45acp arrived and she is the full stainless carbon steel model.  A case can be made that Wilson Combat makes the finest 1911’s produced here in the States.  I say it that way because when you get to this level of craftsmanship, there are a few companies out there and everyone has their own preference.  She sits on a full size carbon steel frame that has a 30 LPI High Cut Checkered Front Strap, and a High-Ride Bullet Proof® Beavertail Grip Safety.  She as a 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 lb. trigger pull.  Cocobolo Double Diamond Grips cover a contoured magazine well.  Inside the full carbon steel slide, is a Hand Fit 5″ Stainless Match Grade Barrel & Bushing and she has a Lo-Mount Adjustable Rear Sight with Improved Ramp Front Sight.  All of the things that I just wrote down are awesome, but they don’t add up to the experience of handling a Wilson Combat.  Every surface is machined perfectly and when you pull back the slide it seems to glide without friction.  These are ridiculous sidearms.  They have their price (this one is $3,100 before tax), but if you are looking for the best of anything in it’s class you are always going to pay for it.  As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
