New Firearm being sold at COST for a worthy cause…

RUGER SUPER BLACKHAWK 44MAGThe shop is getting involved in a movement to help someone in need.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Carlton “Russ” Bakley is an Officer in need of assistance. Along with being a CBPO (K9) and a Florida state trooper, Russ is also a single dad with a 14 year old daughter. He has been battling bone cancer since 2011 and now Lymphoma.  A fellow officer, Dan Chavez, and a large community on Facebook (South Florida Unique Gun Traders) have been trying to raise money to offset some of the crippling medical bills that come along with the fight that Russ is going through.  From the jump, there have been many people including Gunshops, Gunsmiths, Trainers, LEO’s, and civilians that have pledged support.  The community has attempted to put together a raffle for all of the items and services that have been pledged but we have hit a legal wall with regard to running a raffle in the state of Florida.  There are lawyers and accountants that are part of the group whom have been giving counsel for free and at the end of the day, the solution is as follows.  Everyone that has pledged support will sell the item/service on their own and donate the proceeds to the GOFUNDME page for Russ.  Gunshine Arms pledged a new Ruger Super Blackhawk chambered in .44magnum to the raffle.  From my perspective the easiest way to sell the weapon, so that the funds can be donated in the quickest fashion, is at my cost on the weapon.  So, here’s the deal.  The Ruger Super Blackhawk that you see in the photo above will cost $510.00 + tax and background which will put a good samaritan out the door at $545.60.  The entire $510 cost of the weapon will be donated to the GOFUNDME page http://www.gofundme.com/LawEnforcernentOfc and the tax and background fees will be sent to the appropriate state agencies.  If you are not interested in the weapon, but feel like helping someone out that has spent his life in the service of all of us that live here, you can donate any amount of money to the GOFUNDME page listed above.  No amount is too small.  As many of you know, this shop supports the men and women who serve all of us for a living.  This is a cause that hits close to home for me as my family has lost its share of battles with cancer and is still fighting some.  I know the level of support that people need when they go through this.  Any respite from the economic pressures that come along with this fight, help people to focus on what really matters…the family that is going through all of this.

As always, thank you for reading the Blog at gunshinearms.com
